BEST TIMES

Dawn Dusk Night

Sharpsnout bream are shy and take a bait less often than other Diplodus; going one hook size smaller (e.g. size 7) can help. Mussel is the most recommended bait; rock worms collected from under weed on the rocks and small crabs are also used, with a thumb-sized crab for bigger fish. They roam weedy rocky ground, pier legs and the bases of large boulders, feeding on algae, worms, molluscs and shrimps. Angler reports say they feed more eagerly going into winter and are also taken on moonlit nights.
