BEST TIMES

Morning Afternoon Dusk

Round gobies live inside harbours among stones and rocks and at the foot of quay walls, and they are not fussy about bait. The simplest rig works best: one small hook with a small weight a hand-span above, lowered straight down at your feet beside the wall. Mussel, anchovy, horse mackerel and chicken are all used; in clear water you can watch the bite. They also take small 3–5 cm soft plastics on 1–5 g jig heads when LRF fishing.
