BEST TIMES

Dawn Dusk Night

Anchovy rigs use the smallest hook sizes, dressed with very fine feather and tinsel, with droppers set close so several hooks load on one drop. Lower the rig and work the rod lightly and rhythmically; schools often run near the surface, so try different depths and stay where you find fish. Lit piers are very productive at night: anchovy gather under the light and the rig's flash draws them. Choose the sinker for the current — light from shore, heavier in deep or fast water.
