BEST TIMES

The lighter the tackle the better: 0.10 mm body line, 0.08 mm droppers 6–7 cm long, size 12–15 hooks with white feather, and a 10–20 g sinker. Don't cast the sabiki — lower it from the pier and lift it gently up and down, checking the droppers before each drop so they don't tangle. On a single hook use bread, dough or a tiny piece of shrimp; a big bait won't fit the mouth. A light groundbait of breadcrumbs brings the shoal right to your feet.
