Baltic salmon are caught by offshore trolling: line-counter reels, planer boards and downriggers spread big spoons at different depths until you find the fish's layer; Swedish summer trolling often runs at roughly 40–60 m. In the Baltic only reared salmon with a clipped adipose fin may be kept; wild fish with an intact adipose fin must be released immediately and carefully. In Swedish waters the daily limit is one fin-clipped salmon per angler, and salmon fishing stops for the day after the first. Rules differ by country and area, so check local rules before fishing. Tackle figures are typical ranges.
